She was predeceased by: her parents, John Francis and Mary "Bess" Mullen; and her siblings, Patricia "Pip" Stahlschmidt, Joann Degnan and John Mullen.
She is survived by: her husband Dr. William James Gilligan of Year's Eve; her children, Katie Gilligan (Jamie Considine), Mimi Gilligan (Sean Carney), Megan Joy (Jack Joy) and John T. Gilligan (Lisa Gilligan); and her brother Michael Mullen. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
