He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carol Rosentreter; his children, Jon Paul Rosentreter (Chelsea), Eric Rosentreter (Susan) and Kristen Rosentreter (Bret Solnoki); his grandchildren, Ethan, Wyatt and Lily; his siblings, Karen Mackiewich, Orville Rosentreter, Brian and Mike Weidel; his mother Irma; and also Kristine Kelly (Jim). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
