He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. and Clara Rooney (Mayer); and also, Eileen Vogt (Ted), Vi McKnight (Jim), Kathleen "Kay" Schmidt (Gerry), Julio Mencarelli (Betty Jo), John Mencarelli (Guilda), Tony Mencarelli (Josephine) and Robert Mencarelli (Evelyn).
He is survived by: his wife Valencia L. "Val" Rooney (Mencarelli); his children, Thomas Rooney (Kay Abramowski) of Hinsdale, IL, Patrick Rooney (Heather Labuta) of Hinsdale, IL and Robin Madrigal (Zachary Madrigal) of Scottsdale, AZ; and his grandchildren, Ryan Rooney, Adam Rooney, Kassidy, Kyle, Kaitlyn Madrigal of Scottsdale, AZ, Harper, Lucas and William of Hinsdale, IL. He is also survived by brother and sister in law Rev. Harry (Joyce) Mencarelli; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends.
