He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Sprong and Inez Johnson Sprong; and his siblings, Kate Ferguson, Melba Daiker, Erma Evans, Johnny and Richard Sprong.
He is survived by: his wife Vera Taylor; his children, Deborah Gillis (Tim) of Hillview, Judith Sprong of Carrollton, Robert Sprong (Janet) of Hillview, Donnie Sprong (Sharon) of Hillview and Gary Sprong (Angie) of White Hall; and his grandchildren, Amanda Piazza, Shane Gillis, Kelsey, Katlyn Sprong, Taylor Alexander, Colton Follis, Jarrod Sprong, Kaleb Sprong, Brittany Hayes and Brad Sprong. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
