With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Russell Fred Greenwood of Hillsboro, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 8, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Greenwood and Mary Greenwood; his brothers, Loren and Reginald; and his former wife Doris Doyen.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Noah Meade (Melissa) of Grayslake and Morgan Johnson (Blake) of Nokomis; his grandchildren, Brandon (Tessa), Cody (Kassie), Dustin (Heather), Devin, Julie (Ryan), Kelli (Mark), Caroline, Owen, Taylor and Quinn; his great grandchildren, Charles, Kimberly, Chelsea, Caitlyn, Caleb, Karsyn, Kinley, Ella, Amya, Kyla, Westin, Hadley and Harrison; his great great grandchildren, Addy, Jackson, Luca and Landon; and his siblings, Ronnie Greenwood of Oregon and Ramona Taylor of Springfield. He is also survived by his family, friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home (624 S Main St, Hillsboro, IL 62049). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sertomas of Hillsboro or the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
