He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Cole and Gertrude Cole (Nichols); his wife Ruby George; his daughter Sandra; and his siblings, Rosie, Sonny, Butch, Mildred and Mary.
He is survived by: his children, Richard D. Cole Jr. (Mary) of Witt and Tina Cole of Gillespie; his grandson Shane Cole of Litchfield; his sister Frances Mayberry of Witt; and his pet Layla. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
