He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Wilkening and Blanche Wilkening; and his son-in-law James "Jim" Grimes, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Melva Wilkening; his daughters, Teri Grimes (Brian Stewart) and Debra Austin; and his grandchildren, Jaime Tiff (Joshua), Emily Galanowicz (Gavin), Julie Wright (Danny), Lindsay Hiltl (Hans-Ryan), Vanessa Uhls (Joshua), Kimberly Grimes (Steve Burgdorf), Tehya, Hannah, Lincoln, Lucky, Anna, Valerie, Drew, Abby, Danny, Dylan, Evelyn, Hans-Ryan II, Kellen, Penelope and Evan.
