It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Roman B. Korte of Highland, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 90, on February 11, 2023. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton S. Korte and Ida C. Korte; and his siblings, Josephine Pacer, Frances Griffin, Lucille Korte, Elizabeth "Betty" Korte, Leonard Korte and Cornelius Korte.

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Pat Hoffmann (Jim), Carol Georgetta, Jim Pacer (Mary) and Scott Griffin (Paula); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Mindy Miller (Matt), Jimmy Hoffmann, Connie Georgetta, Joey Georgetta and Michael Georgetta. He is also survived by six great great nieces & nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul School for the Garden Guardians Project, or in the form of Masses.

“Dear Roman was a Highand/Pierron Treasure. He faithfully navigated from his home near Pierron to St. Paul's Church, Highland. I, a gr'dtr. of Josephine Tebbe, Aunt Ida's mother, was born to Elizabeth Fischer, nee Tebbe. Since I moved to Highland (from CA) in 2021 I always saw Roman at the daily Mass. I remembered him and soon introduced myself. Later at the Sign of Peace, we exchanged nods. Briefly he was in a nursing facility near me. I saw him there. Smiling! Irma F. Gapter”
