It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James L. Swearingen of Highland, Illinois, who passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Swearingen and Phyllis Swearingen; his wife Patricia Swearingen; his son-in-law Dennis Hilderbrand; and his siblings, Phil and Linda.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Hilderbrand of Decatur, IL, Rick Swearingen and Jody Melosi (Bob) of Highland, IL; his grandchildren, Keri, D. J., Jason, Tiffany, Ryan, Ben, Jenna and Justin; and his sisters, Connie and Patricia "Patty" Garner. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
