He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Van Zyl; his children, Kimberly Van Roekel (Galen), Kristin De Weerd (Michael), Patrick Van Zyl (Heather) and Derrick Van Zyl (Teena); his grandchildren, Kylie Buma (Ben), Mackenzie Mellema (Blake), Cambrie, Gabriel Van Roekel, Megan Velthuizen (Cody), Caleb, Mariah DeWeerd, Zoe, Delia, Oliver, Huck, Linus Van Zyl, Jackson, Sophia, Juliana and Weston Van Zyl; and his siblings, John Van Zyl (Dorothy), Glenn Van Zyl (Connie) and Gloria Van Den (Gene).
