She was predeceased by: her parents, James Erwin and Elizabeth Erwin (Berger); her son James Volkmar; and her siblings, Nora, Faye, Doris, Marshall, Jack, Bill and Adalia.

She is survived by: her husband John L. Volkmar; her sons, Ronald Volkmar of Bastrop, TX and Larry Volkmar (Brian Glanville) of Highland; her brother Edmond Erwin of Supulpa, OK; and her daughter-in-law Janice Volkmar of Dallas, TX.. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fiteen great-grandchildren.
