He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Revere and Sarah Jane Stover (Jones); his wife Betty Jane Christian; and his brothers, Emmanuel Gene, David Merle and Bill Stover.
He is survived by: his children, Anita Mae Carey (Philip) of Kaneohe, Brenda Kaye Tooley (Steve) of Highland, Linda Faye Altom (David) of Pocahontas, Curtis Ray Stover (Debbie) of Hinesville, Georgia, Brian Clay and Russell Jay Stover of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Michelle (Dwight), Eddy Jr., Tina (Rob), Crystal (Gary), Aaron (Erika), Rachel (Andrew), Kevin, Dena and Tahlia; and his sister Clara Kay Woods (Jim) of Granite City, Illinois..
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Assalley-Young Funeral Home (118 E College Ave, Greenville, IL 62246). A masonic service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Greene Cemetery.
The family asks that donations be gifted to the Bond County Hospice in lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts. Memorial contributions may be given during the visitation and funeral or mailed to the Bond County Hospice, 1520 S. 4th Street, Greenville, IL 62246.
