He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Verbeek and Edith Verbeek; his wife Lois Verbeek; his children, Gordon Verbeek (Cathy), Gwen Recker (Duane) and Barbara Verbeek; and his siblings, Joe Verbeek (Marjorie) and Thelma Kowel (late Walter).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to New Hope Church, Highland Christian School, Lansing Christian School, Illiana Christian High School or Hospice of the Calumet Region.
