He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta M. Donia. He is survived by: his children, James R. (Robin), Donnarae (John) and Richard A. Donia (Aubree); his grandchildren, Anthony J. (Amy Rush), Jason M. Grejda (Juliane), Nathaniel J. Roppelt, Courtney N. Bonner (Jamar Bonner), Lindsey M. Cox (Thomas) and Noah L. Donia; and his great grandchildren, Maxim E. Grejda, Lily N. Cox, Jamar L. Bonner, Nola M. Donia, Daisy M. Cox, Primrose E. Cox and Mason J. Bonner. He is also survived by five sisters; also survived by nieces and nephews.
