He was predeceased by: his wife Diana R. Evans; his parents, Elliott H. Parfitt and Mildred C. Parfitt; his brother Charles R. "Bob" Parfitt; his in-laws, Thomas W. and Ruth L. Evans; and his sisters-in-law, Phyllis B. Parfitt and Carolyn E. Slaughter.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Parfitt (Steven Banner), Laura Chatman (Joe) and Thomas E. Parfitt, Jr.; his granddaughters, Lauren DeVoe (Evan) and Julie Stewart (Will); his great grandchildren, Benjamin and Charles DeVoe; his brother-in-law Robert L. Slaughter; and his cousin Lynne P. Larsson. He is also survived by nephews, nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's name to the Deerfield Public Library and the Chicago Botanic Garden.
