“My sincere condolences to Marcia and the rest of Charlie and her wonderful family. I cherish the friendship we shared starting as team mates on the best basketball teams in Western Illinois University history. And now with the passing of team mate Ron Nikcevich this past February, we only have myself and Don Talbott left from those teams. Charlie was a talented player which was only out done by his exuberance for life and the friends and family around him. I loved the guy.”

“What a life! "Coach", he did it all. From a stint with the Celtics, to teaching at HP High, to teaching kids in the park district, to coaching kids at all levels, to umpiring LL Baseball, then later 16" softball. I was thrilled to see him stay active at Deerpath as the always smiling and giving everyone the "business" starter. If only they would have listened to him. We all are lucky to have interacted with him in some way. He will most certainly be missed. I hope the rims are soft in Heaven.”
