He was predeceased by: his wife Bessie Smagala; his son Gregory A. Smagala; his parents, Michalina Smagala and Adam Smagala; and his siblings, Stanley, Steven, Edward, Edwin, Adam, Helen Jennie, Lottie, Clara, Mary and Frances.
He is survived by: his daughter Diane Seelen Smagala; and his grandson Paul T. Seelen.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Zarzycki Manor Chapels, Ltd. - Willow Springs (8999 Archer Ave, Willow Springs, IL 60480-1205). A prayer was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Patricia Church (9050 S 86th Ave, Hickory Hills, IL 60457). A burial was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Resurrection Cemetery (7201 Archer Ave, Justice, IL 60458).
