He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. James and Helen L. James (Cusey); his brother Chauncey James; and his half-brother Steve Kennel. He is survived by: his children, Troy James of Bloomington, Pamela Kooi of Bloomington and Jodie James (Jaime) of Bloomington; his grandchildren, Brittany Kooi (Carlos Moreno), Elliott Kooi (Brenda Osorio Guzman) and Samuel Goodman; and his brothers, Mike James (Denise) of Alexandria, VA and Clayton James (Gwen).
The family suggest memorials to be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois, American Heart and Lung Association, Bloomington VFW Post 454 or to the American Red Cross.
