He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert M. Schaefer and Christina Smith Schaefer; his wife Karen Niemann; his daughter Kirsten Schaefer Feldker (Clemens) of Bloomington, Illinois; his grandchildren, Zachery Feldker and Valerie Feldker; and his brother Charles Schaefer (Marie) of Santa Rosa.
