He is survived by: his former spouse Floye Jane Gardner (Lush); his wife Jane Schmid of Heyworth, IL; his children, Teri Meeker (David) of Melbourne, FL, Tim Gardner (Brenda) of Heyworth, IL, Jennifer Schmid (Melissa Branchfield) of Heyworth, IL and Jeffery Schmid (Jyll) of Heyworth, IL; his grandchildren, Drake, D'Laney, D'Andra Gardner, Clayton, Maddie and Evan Schmid; and his siblings, Judy Mowery of Heyworth, IL, Larry Schmid (Kathy) of Waynesville, IL, Marti Schmid (Rene Stidham) of Macks Creek, MO, Christine Robinson (Fritz) of Kenney, IL, Bonnie Schmid of Clinton, IL, Paul Schmid (Laurie Burk) of Waynesville, IL, Kevin Schmid (Debby) of McLean, IL and Philip Schmid of Waynesville, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; two aunts and one uncle; and many cousins.
