He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Russell Franklin and Helen M. Wirrick Batty; and his siblings, Don Batty (Aleta) of Bloomington, Roseanne Halbert of Bloomington, Mary Lynn Cavallo (Tim) of Bloomington, Ron Batty of Germany, Fred Batty, Delores Nichols and Mary Helen Walker. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois, Normal.
