He was predeceased by: his parents, George Orval and Rebecca Mae Hays Bettis; his granddaughter Mindy Ann Clark; his great grandchild Laikyn; and his siblings, Helen Edwards, Etta Rae Dibler, Iva Simpson and Roy Bettis.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ralston; his children, Sandra Kay Houchens (Bill) of Springfield, Kathy Ann Arnett (Rick) of Hettick, Teresa Jane Clark of Sulphur Springs, Ark, Larry Dale Bettis (Bonnie) of Rushville, Gary Dean Bettis (Mary) of Palmyra and Ricky Dee Bettis (Dawn) of Ft. Lauderdale; and his brother Harvey Bettis of Carlinville. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren.
