Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Warren Nevin Smith Jr. of Herscher, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 85, on March 4, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Nevin, Sr. and Yetta Roana Smith (Lyon); his former wife Ann Smith; his son Warren N. Smith, III; his son-in-law James Ryan; his siblings, Carol Jean "Sue" Todd and Larry William Smith; and his nephew Roger Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Snider; his daughters, Paula Ekstrom (Daniel) of Wilmington and Teresa Kathleen "Kathy" Ryan of Kankakee; his daughter-in-law Verlene Smith of Brookville, Indiana; his grandchildren, Lisa Jones, Allen Ison, Jeremiah Cannon, Patrick Jason Peck, Warren James Smith, Daniel Ryan, Andrew Ryan, Brooke Pope, Sara Heino, Gabriel Ekstrom, James Ryan and Kati Gardner; his siblings-in-law, Cathy Smith of Lyndon, Illinois and James Snider of Indianapolis; and his cousins, Rosemary Pizarro of Rock Falls and Gary Dean of Iowa. He is also survived by 24 Great grandchildren; five Great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kankakee Eastridge Church of the Nazarene (2679 E Court St, Kankakee, IL 60901). A burial was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Riverside Cemetery (1908 E 3rd St, Sterling, IL 61081).
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Warren's memory to Eastridge Church of the Nazarene or Uplifted Care.
