He was predeceased by: his son Steven. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Markus; his daughter Mary Meadows (Scott) of Herrin; his daughter-in-law Debbi Swalls of Carterville; his sister-in-law Virginia Morgan of Herrin; his grandchildren, Stuart Swalls (Kelly), Stephanie Haust (Stephen), Samantha Swalls (Tim Black), Sidney Moore (Wes), Jason Kern (Jacky), Joshua Stricker, Danielle Dunlap (Jay), Cassandra Meadows, Jacob Meadows and Bethany Meadows; and his great grandchildren, Reese, Vivian, Madi, Joseph, Jonathan, Norah and Olivia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 316 West Monroe Street, Herrin, IL 62948; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
