With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell E. Mathews of Herrin, Illinois, born in Ottawa, Illinois, who passed away on February 20, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mathews and Alma Mathews (Clement); and his brother William. He is survived by: his wife Mary of Herrin; his son Danny (Sherri) of Marseilles; and his grandchildren, Joseph of Germantown Hills and Anna of Marseilles.
