He was predeceased by: his parents, James Broderick and Muriel Broderick; and his brothers, James, John, Jack, William and Robert.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine Broderick of Herrin, IL; his sisters, Beverly Winterbottom and Betty Carver; and his children, Christine Bell, Martin Broderick and Jessica Woodworth.

He donated his body to Science Care, in the hopes of finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
