It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Eugene O'Connor (Herrin, Illinois), born in Watertown, South Dakota, who passed away on May 17, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Patrick and Harriet Dorothy O'Connor (Gonstead). He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Booker; his sons, Stephen Patrick O'Connor (Kathy) of Missouri and Scott Booker O'Connor (Jerica) of Illinois; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Tyler O'Connor, Paige, Regan and Ian O'Connor.
DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS, a private memorial service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating.
For those who prefer, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church or Folds of Honor and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, 201 South 13th Street, Herrin, Illinois 62948.
