He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Russell and Pauline Russell (Hiller); his siblings, Gary Lee Russell, Vista Ahls, Jennie White and Marie Rendleman; and his daughter-in-law Kristy Gray Russell.
He is survived by: his wife Martha "Janie" Rendleman; and his sons, Kenneth Russell, Gary Russell (Sharon) and Robert Russell (Angie). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Crain Funeral Home - Egyptian Chapel (3208 S Park Ave, Energy, IL 62933). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Egyptian Memorial Gardens (3208 S Park Ave, Energy, IL 62933).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
