He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver H. Liefer and Ida M. Liefer (Kopp); and his siblings, Jo Ann Liefer, Robert Liefer and Paul Liefer.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Judith A. Dearworth; his wife Judy Liefer; his children, Mike Liefer (Tammy) of Chester, IL, Mary Ivie (Mike) of Poplar Bluff, MO, Becky Bell (Patrick) of Portageville, MO, Ron Liefer (Amy) of Chester, IL and Joe Liefer (April) of Herrin, IL; his grandchildren, Erin, Preston, Anna, Adam, Abby, Macie, Mallary, Mackenzie, Sarah, Laura, Brian, Ava, Braxton and Grayson; and his sister Arlou Papenberg of Red Bud, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
