It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melissa Carter (Herrin, Illinois), born in Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on February 19, 2020, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Frank P. Carter, Jr.; and her parents, Frederick Niemann and Vera Niemann. She is survived by: her daughters, Veronica "Roni" Whitsel (Steve), Sarah Barton (Jeff) and Amanda Whitsel (Michael); her grandchildren, Alec, Conner, Keaton, Dominick and Tyler; and her siblings, Christopher Niemann and Marilyn Kinsella. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
