Hawkins of Herrin, Illinois, born in Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on July 23, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lindsey Sanders and Beulah Sanders (Ferguson); her husband Curt Hawkins; her son-in-law Gary Peldo; and her siblings, Lowanda Cheatham and Loren "Flea" Sanders.
She is survived by: her children, Tami Peldo of Marion, Lee Newberry (Jamie) of Milan and Chad Newberry (Brittany) of Rock Island, Illinois; her sisters, Lily Arlene Hayden of Carbondale and Shelby "Sally" Winfield of Carbondale; and her sister-in-law Mary Lou Sanders of Steeleville. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
