He was predeceased by: his parents, John Luther and Eva Cox (Crusky); his parent-in-law Lou Dean Waugh; and his son John L. Cox. He is survived by: his children, Phillip Dean Cox, Sanita of Alton and Kim Smith (Bart) of Cobden; his daughter-in-law Diane Cox of Marion; and his grandchildren, John Cox (Christy) of Herrin, Pam Borders of Herrin, McCartney Cox of Carterville, Erin Kohmescher (Jeff) of Redondo Beach, CA, Zach Huskey of Murphysboro, Cody Cox of St. Louis, MO, Luke Huskey (Melody) of Los Osos, CA and Matt Cox (Shawna) of Marion. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorial donations in John's memory may be made to a local animal shelter of the donor's choice.
