He was predeceased by: his parents, Carol Bowens (Estes) and James R. Hilligoss; his son James Michael Hilligoss; and his grandson Jesse Michael Gurley. He is survived by: his wife Sally Brandhorst; his children, Chrissy Gurley of Herrin and Daniel; his daughter-in-law Nancy Hilligoss of Blairsville, IL; his grandchildren, Brennen Gurley, Dominic Gurley and Alyssa Nichelson; and his siblings, Linda Cravens of Kentucky and Tom Hilligoss of Pontoon Beach, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
