She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilford Cox and Winnie Jane Cox (Bennett); her husband George W. "Bill" Ayers; and her siblings, Claude Cox, Edward Cox, Willie Cox, Dalton Cox, Edith Johnson, Lucille Mathis, Helen Fitch, Gladys Musgrave and Vernon Cox.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vonita Ann Elders and Rita Lynn Duncan. She is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
