He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Hall and Lavinia Hall (Smithey); and his brother Jim Hall. He is survived by: his wife Nora Hall of West Frankfort; his daughter Davina Deere (Dwayne) of West Frankfort; his granddaughters, Jasmine Kodger of Wiggins, MS., Jaqueline Rodriquez of Aurora, Caroline and Rebecca Deere of West Frankfort; his siblings, Mary Dormer of Enfield, Betty Walker of Enfield, Ruby "Toodie" Crawford of Jonesboro, AR, Donna Marie Hall of Naples, FL and Richard Hall of Mary Esther, FL.; and his sister-in-law Donna Mae Hall of Bristol, IL.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“To Nora, Richard, Mary, Betty, and the rest of David's family, I grew up with David in Sunnyside Park, Batavia, IL. I have a lot of wonderful memories of him. Once I was in trouble and needed-I think it was $1.00 - big money to me and him then. We were high school freshmen. I told David; he gave me all the money he had - his lunch money. I'll never forget that nor the rest of my memories of him. I'm very sorry to hear that you all have lost him. He was a special person. Sincerely, Buck Ryan”
