He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Cox and Clara E. Cox (Short); his siblings, Virgil and Juanita Harris; and his son Jerry Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Mae Schack Cox; his children, Larry (Elena Cox) of Arlington and Barbara Gentry of Farmersville, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Diann Josten of Herrin, Kelly Cox of Cahokia, Illinois, Curtis (Amy Gentry) of Henderson, Nevada, Marcus Gentry of Springfield, Illinois and Ricky Cox of Cahokia, Illinois.; and his great grandchildren, Alex Gentry of Springfield, Dakota (Rachael Josten) of Herrin, Jorden, Julia and Emma Gentry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
