He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gaddis and Ethel Gaddis (Hayes); his siblings, Joseph, Bob, Kenny, Lester Gaddis and Betty Williams; and his siblings-in-law, Gary Sexton, Evelyn Nation, Betty Farris and Mildred Hale.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Joe Gaddis of Herrin, Jimmy Gaddis (Kristi) of Huntsville, AL and Gina Carey (Brian) of St. Louis; his granddaughters, Crystal Ness (Eric) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Maegan Carey of Shiloh, Cassy Williamson (Eric) of St. Louis, Alyssa Gaddis of Huntsville, AL, Kambrie Barnes (Wesley) of Ft. Campbell, KY, Madison Carey of Chicago and Kelsie Gaddis of Hope Mills, NC; his great grandchildren, Kameron and Devon Pridgen of North Carolina; his siblings, Val Dean Gaddis (Annie) of Albuquerque, NM, Charles Gaddis (Almeda) of Marion and Pat Wallace (Dennis) of West Frankfort; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Sexton (Jeanetta), Tom Sexton (Imogene), Mary Jane Cooper (Ken) and Connie Chapman (Jerry). He is also survived by two sons and one daughter, seven granddaughters, and two great-grandsons.
