He was predeceased by: his father Bill Shoemake; his parents-in-law, Fish and Mary Hewlett; his son Billy Mason; his brother Greg Shoemake; and his brother-in-law Tom Hewlett.

He is survived by: his mother Joyce Shoemake (Tucker) of Herrin; his wife Bonnie Shoemake of Herrin; his brother Randy Shoemake of Herrin; his brother-in-law Phillip Hewlett (Terrie) of West Frankfort; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Baldwin (Monte) of Energy, Samantha Shoemake (Stacey Sperling) of Carterville, Rebecca Loyd (Kyle) of Anna, Heather Followell of Belleville, Troy Hewlett of Belleville and Jamie Kelley of Chicago; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Logan, Vincent Baldwin, Archer Droll, Ivy Loyd and Jessica Followell; and his close friends, Jerry Morris, Dennis Avripas, Buddy Collins, Rick Alegnani, Mike Fisher, Matt Fisher, Jerry Decoursey, Charlie Groves, Eric Bateman and Robbie Randolph. He is also survived by numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS, a private graveside service will be held at Herrin City Cemetery with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating.

For those who prefer, memorials may be made to the Fin & Feather Charity Fund, St. Francis Animal Rescue or the Herrin City Cemetery Association.
