He was predeceased by: his stepfather Dale "Dumpy" Denton; and his grandparents, Ralph, Bunea Thompson, Donald and Helen Moffett.
He is survived by: his parents, James Thompson of Cowden and Linda Thompson (Moffett) of Herrick; his brothers, Aaron Thompson (Anita) of Herrick, Darren Thompson (Nina) of Herrick and Travis Thompson (Rhonda) of Beecher City; and his stepsiblings, Nikki Fleck (Michael) of Olathe, KS, Kelly Cole (Steve) of Bethany, Dawn Jarboe (Stephen) of Herrick and Eric Denton of Pana. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Cowden-Herrick First Responders.
