He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Virgil and Bernice Hankins (Maxwell); his wife Nancy Eccleston; his sons, Vernon Robert Hankins (Debbie) of New Smyrna Beach, Timothy Allen Hankins of New Smyrna Beach and Paul J. Hankins (Tracey Phillips) of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden and Torsten Hankins; his sister-in-law Marge Hankins of Lacon; and his brother Donald.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or to St. Jude.
