With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kenneth E. Cathelyn of Henry, Illinois, who passed away on November 7, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Evo Cathelyn and Kathryn Cathelyn (Brate); his brother Duane Cathelyn (Helen); and his siblings-in-law, Bob Lievens (Betty), Lawrence Lievens (Dorothy), Gene Lievens (Evelyn) and Barbara Cathelyn.
He is survived by: his wife Lucille Lievens; his children, Sharon Marie and Vernon Kenneth; his daughter-in-law Karen A. Cathelyn; his grandchildren, Eric Cathelyn (Stephanie) of Carmel, IN, Laura Steffensmeier (Greg) of Des Moines, IA and Lisa Cathelyn (Harley Demler) of Stoughton, WI.; his great grandchildren, Lilly, Hunter, Zachary, Xavier Cathelyn, Brooke and Grant Steffensmeier; his brother Jim Cathelyn (Arlene) of Elizabethton, TN; and his brother-in-law Richard Lievens (Betty) of Orion, IL.. He is also survived by Several nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony's Cemetery, Atkinson or Henry County Senior Citizens - Meals on Wheels program.
