Larry D. Behrens Obituary
Larry D. Behrens, 79, of Hebron, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at Centegra McHenry Hospital, McHenry, IL. He was born in Alden Township, Illinois on February 15, 1938, a son of the late William and Edna (Kuecker) Behrens. He was married to Agnes (Ziegler) on Aug. 10, 1964, in Neillsville, WI. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hebron and served on the church council.
Larry was a graduate of Harvard High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a TIG welder at Tankcraft in Delavan, WI for 20 years retiring in 2003. Larry is survived by his wife Agnes; five daughters, Sandra (the late Russell) Smart, Marilyn Smart, Karen Kunkel, Lisa (Joseph) Engelhart, Laurie (Glenn) Saputa, two sons Phillip Sternitzky, Michael (Tracey) Behrens; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a great great grandson, two sisters, Faye (Burley) Lenhart, and Beverly (the late Charles) Burkhart, and a brother, William (Betty) Behrens.
He was preceded by his first wife Marilyn (Melhorne) and grandson David Sternitzky. Memorial visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday October 4, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 9812 St. Albans St Hebron, IL, with Rev. Sarah Wilson officiating. Internment will be at Alden Cemetery in Alden with military honors.
