He was predeceased by: his siblings, Lloyd, Ralph, Donal, Geraldine, Revenna and Laura; and his daughter Priscilla Gaye Koonce.

He is survived by: his wife Ila Scrape; and his children, Joseph Koonce, Celesta Davis (Kevin), Leslie Draper (Joseph), Holly Pogioli (Chris), Ronnie Koonce (Alice), Tiffani Koonce, Trevor Koonce (Marilee), Miracle Meskimen (Daniel) and Branden Koonce (Nancy). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews; and one sister.
