She was predeceased by: her parents, Verden V. Bortell and Ruth K. Bortell (Kreiling); her husband James H. Hamlet; her brother Virgil Bortell, Sr.; and her stepson Jerry Hamlet.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Gooch of Havana, Brenda Young (Randy) of Tennessee and Jim Hamlet (Brandy) of Havana; her stepchildren, Steve Cagle (Deb), Jennie Youell (Erin), Mary Hamlet and Roger Hamlet (Jenny); and her brothers, Eldon Bortell of Forest City and Carlos V. Bortell of Manito. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made in Ethel's name to the donor's choice of organization.
