He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tomsheck and Martha Tomsheck (Stogentein); his wife Louise Marie Baumgartner; and his siblings, William, Clarence, Elnora, Esther, Lucille, Martha and Gertrude.
He is survived by: his children, Marsha Moore of Scottsdale, Arizona and Ben Tomsheck of Lake Stevens, Washington; his grandchildren, Dustin Moore, Kate Moore Reed (Scott) and Shannon Tomsheck; and his great grandchild Forest Reed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mayo Clinic or the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics for research purposes.
