He was predeceased by: his parents, Heiko J. Lessen and Matilda Lessen (Sampson); his son Dale W. Lessen; his son-in-law Gary Maxey; and his siblings, Robert Lessen, Alan Lessen and Majorie Bathe.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Maxey, Colleen Anning (Jim), Susan Gehlbach (Jim) and Sarah Lessen; his grandchildren, Tyler Gehlbach, Kara Cooley (Matt), Mallory Anning, Alexa Laegeler (Riley), Shelby Lessen and Ashley Lessen; and his great grandchild Olivia Grace Cooley.
Memorials for Bill may be made in his name to Lincoln First United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, or the Hartsburg Emden FFA.
