Robert Ray Holmes Sr. Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Ray Holmes Sr. (Harrisburg, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 24, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Ray and Julia Savanna Holmes (Newell); his former wife Geraldine "Geri" Lucas; his stepson Troy Don Harrelson; his great grandchild Michael Robert Holmes; his grandson-in-law Gonzalo Sabogal; and his sister Delia Alice "Deed" Hollerson (Jean).

He is survived by: his wife Gail Harrelson-Holmes of Harrisburg; his children, Robert Ray Holmes Jr. (Joanne) of Wildwood, Missouri and Trena Lynn Black (Brent) of Norris City; his stepchildren, Christina Ann Wheeler (Larry) of Oregon and Robert Glenn Harrelson of Eldorado; his stepdaughter-in-law Marie Harrelson of Eldorado; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Amanda, Trenton, Sophia, Travis, Olivia, Colton, Sheree, Dylan, Nicholas, Chelsea, Jacob, Tyler and Angelica; his great grandchildren, Paizlee, Adilyn, Harper, Gianella, Gunner, Lucas, Adien, Wallen, Arthur and Connor; and his siblings, William Holmes of Marion, Betty Parton (John) of Marion and Gary Holmes (Kim) of Creal Springs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
