He was predeceased by: his parents, Pleas and Margie Furlong, Sr. (Layman); his daughter Janet Furlong; his siblings, Velma, Mary, John, Bill, Luke, Hubert, Bob and Lowell; and his half-brothers, Freeman, Carl and Charlie.
He is survived by: his spouse Oneda Prather; his children, Michael Furlong (Robbie) of Harrisburg and Lisa Johnson (Steve) of Mt. Vernon; his granddaughters, Brandi Jones (Jarus) of Carbondale, Michelle Reeves (Tony) of Mt. Vernon and Ashton Lee of Edwardsville; and his great grandchildren, Everly, Blaze Reeves of Mt. Vernon, Grayson and Lofton Jones of Carbondale. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bankston Fork Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
