It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal Simpson of Harrisburg, Illinois, who passed away on March 22, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Chrisman and Lois Chrisman (Pickering); and her husband Bob Simpson. She is survived by: her children, Robbie Vargo of Harrisburg, Kim Henshaw of Harrisburg, Gary Simpson (Val) of Lake, Jeff Simpson of Harrisburg, Debbie Stevens (Gary) of Lake and Greg Simpson (Patti) of Harrisburg, Illinois.; her grandchildren, Eric Vargo, Adam Vargo, Chris Hyers (Robin), Garrick Simpson (Manda), Rachel Pauls (Cody), Nathan Simpson, Ryan Gullett, Allie Stevens, Preston Simpson (Madison Kennedy) and Landon Simpson; her great grandchildren, Abigail Simpson, Isabella Hyers, Addison Vargo, Arianna Stevens-Weigler, Rosie Gullett, Mabree Pauls, Madison Pauls, Macie Pauls, Kaison Simpson, Mallory Simpson, Arron Davis and Autumn Moore; her great great grandchild Embrie Moore; her nephew Tony Chrisman (Sherry); her siblings-in-law, Norma Travelstead (Gale), Bimp Simpson (Paulette) and Ronnie Simpson (Lisa); her sisters, Ruth Brantley (Bill) and Minsy Gott (Tommy); her grandchildren, Natalie Simpson and Blake Stevens; her sons-in-law, JB Henshaw and Mike Vargo; and her brother-in-law Denzil Simpson (Wilma). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
