He was predeceased by: his parents, Dawsey Temple Obediah and Idabell Cowsert (Stricklin); his father-in-law Junior Rash; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Wick and Hal D Whitlock.

He is survived by: his wife Regina (Rash); his children, Rita Griffith (Tom) of Harrisburg and Jeff Cowsert of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Dustin Coker (Lisa Porter), Casey Edwards (Brandon) and Keelan Coker; his great grandchildren, Kyleigh Coker, Cayden Edwards, Grayson Edwards and Harrison Edwards; his siblings, Tom Cowsert (Brenda) of Eldorado, Rosale Wick (Bob) of Sheridan, IL, Linda Whitlock, Suzie Pearson (Jim) of Eldorado and Kitty Vigil (Jerome) of Harrisburg; his siblings-in-law, Daryl Rash, Derak Rash (Donna) and Karen Crank (Rash) of Eldorado; his mother-in-law Ruby Rash of Eldorado; and also Cara Davenport. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
